Brian Sonneman

BIOGRAPHY

Brian Sonneman's musical journey began at the tender age of eleven. His parents bought him an acoustic guitar for Christmas and lessons with a young lady on the worship team from church. In two short years she had taught him all she knew, so Sonneman's parents sent him to Lynne May for weekly private lessons for five years. This prolific song-writer began stringing phrases together before he could spell the words therein. He is consistently writing, always searching deep within his soul and his sound.

In his early twenties, he had formed the rock group Sonneman, a five-piece powerhouse that played every noteworthy club in Seattle, Tacoma, and all the tiny towns in between. In the spring of 1993, a local music magazine ranked the band one of the area's top ten rock bands to see live; they also placed Sonneman in their top five rock singers touring the West Coast. Sonneman and longtime music partner Pete Johnston recorded songs together every chance they got. After the band broke up, Johnston made it his mission to teach Sonneman how to record music.

In early 2000

 The pair was at it again, this time with Johnston's wife, Lizzy Daymont. After playing around town in a band together, Sonneman went back to writing and recording in 2003, which eventually led him to his first record deal with German label, Hook Records. In 2004 he began writing and recording songs with UK producer, Dave Meredith, aka Mezzer. The two formed Sonneman-Mezzer. He signed to Melodrift, a label out of Spain that Meredith was already working with. Sonneman released "Capricorn" in the fall of 2005. For the next four years, he released just about two albums a year. In early 2010 Sonneman signed a two-single release with Interscope.

In October, Sonneman finally found a home with TMG. This lion from the The Pacific Ring of Fire will lift your spirit, inspire your heart and move your soul. Sonneman's songs are not only deeply personal and powerful, they have a unique intellectual depth.
